This position performs routine and varied tasks and makes preliminary interpretations of data and recommendations that impact the fabrication, assembly, or servicing of equipment. Participates as a team member; presents recommendations and builds on ideas of others.  In addition, this position is responsible for troubleshooting problems related to the equipment and identifying quality issues. May seek guidance on non-routine tasks and issues.

Under close supervision, performs tasks that are usually routine in nature where very few nonstandard situations occur. Typical duties include routine set-up, operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment to ensure a safe, efficient work environment. Usually receives detailed instructions on most work. Some specifications to the role include performing:

• TIG or MIG welding in one or more of the following materials, aluminum, stainless steel, cooper, carbon steel (certification not necessary),
• Mechanical and maintenance work on semi-trailers, bolt-ons, equipment repairs, building repairs and fabrication of a piping circuit and/or structural/support frame 
• Identify, troubleshoot, and repair of cryogenic piping circuits and system malfunctions. 
• Participate in field service work and maintain house keeping.

Overtime is frequent: shift work and non-standard hours may be required.  Indoor/Outdoor work in all kinds of weather

Qualifications

 

High School diploma or equivalent;

Technical or Associate's degree preferred; HWP(hazardous waste)  certified

0-2 years or relevant experience (e.g. welding, fabrication, vacuum, machining or mechanical).
